Bad news

Update: Found a raw provider -currently waiting for chapters to be delivered and scanned. Thanks all for looking around and asking :) we really appreciate it.


I'm sorry to announce this guys, i tried, but it seems we won't have a raw provider from Taiwan who can supply 1/2 Prince every month. Meaning you may have to wait for the next chapter until June/ July when volume 8 comes out and we can order it online.

    Meh this isn't so bad. Can't till you guys translate 6 chapters in a row. Lol I got to be honest cause waiting for one chapter at a time while knowing how awesome the last chapter was, was killing me.

    Maybe you can look for someone at the Animesuki forums. Those forums are well-populated. I see that there are some translators who live in Japan, so perhaps there is at least one person from their manga subforum who lives in Taiwan....

    My favourite cheap manga seller doesn't carry 1/2 prince. *sigh* http://yasuimanga.com/catalog/

    But take a look at Yasui anyways. It's way cheaper than buying from JList.

    That's a shame. Well, it is reassuring to know that you guys have no intentions of giving this project up. However, just the thought having to wait so long makes me a little sick to my stomach. I'll manage somehow.

    Besides, in six months will be summer vacation, which means non-stop reading. To have something come out then will be very useful! Anyway, I hope everything works out. :)

    Well, you can always space out the3 release of chapter to one a month. That way fans won't have to go 6 months straight without a new chapter.

    Also, this scanlation was approved by the author, right? Maybe if you can get in contact with her she can work something out were you have access through her.

    Hi there!

    Throwing out some ideas.. sorry if you guys already thought of it..

    Perhaps you guys could contact the manga artist or Yu Wo directly and ask if they know anyone in Taiwan willing to help out?

    If asking them directly isn't feasible, maybe give a shout out in their facebook or blog for help? I know the manga artist has a facebook account.. and Yu Wo has a blog.

    I will try think of others ways to help..

    I know some people Chinese scanlators who "may" (note the word "may") allow you access to their raws but it may come down to you allowing their watermarks to remain or you adding watermarks yourselves which will disallow any other group from using their raws (which is the main reason they watermarked their raws in the first place).

    I'll check back here in a few days to get your reply before I approach them (well, it really is "us" as I am part of the said group).

    Fareki, hopefully while you are there in Taiwan, you might find a bookstore there that would sell the magazine on a subscription basis and mail it to the USA. Of course, you would need the details in advance from oddsquadscans as to how much they would pay or their mailing address, etc. Oh well. If a source isn't found, after the august tankoubon, it will be another 6 months wait again.

    it is the same thing for magic insulator right?:( anyway guys even better of magic insulator read the novel of the sun knight(same author of prince) there are only 3 charapters for the moment but they are even more funny than 1/2 prince XD you can find them on halfprincerevolution

    Hm, I might be able to order something.. as help. I'm making a massive order to Taobao (asian ebay thing) but I'm not sure which magazine it features in.. so I can't search it up right now and check. :|

    But I think it'll be better to go for the 6 month wait.. cos I live in Australia and it costs quite a lot to ship heavy things to Australia..

    Unless all the fans chip in, i don't think its worth it for oddsquadscans.

    Where do all of you live? I know that the Kinokuniya in LA, California stocks the magazine because I bought one from them last year when I visited LA. I was pretty ecstatic to find it. If you know someone who lives in LA, you could try asking them.

    The Kinokuniya around where I live don't stock the magazine. I don't know if they would allow me to subscribe to the magazine, but I could try if you still need help?

    I am also going to LA at the end of June, so I could take a look to see if the Kinokuniya there still stocks the magazine (they would only have the most recent issue though, so that means there'd be missing chapters, right?)
